Read the FY 2013 Education Trust Fund (ETF) Budget approved by the State Board of Education last month. The budget includes three important proposed allocations for Career and Technical Education. Specifically, they are:

✴ $5 million for the Career Tech Initiative

✴ $4.3 million for CTE Operating and Maintenance
-
✴ $30 million CTE Bond Issue
I cannot tell you how important your role is as a member of the AACTE Board of Directors and as leaders to make sure that these proposed allocations are approved by the Governor’s office and included in his proposed ETF Budget. Once that has happened – our focus and energies have to be directed at making sure this is successful in the Alabama Legislature.
